wAFF's love story with the Comuna-13 in Medellin began during his first visit back in March 2021. Only a few months later, he returned to give back to the people and the place that he had connected with, by gifting them a surprise party. Word about a special wAFF set in the neighbourhood quickly spread around the city, and the result was a magical afternoon where over 400 people from all ages, races, nationalities, and social classes came together to enjoy music and dance.
Fast forward to 2023, and this event has now become a tradition, attracting over 2500 people from all over the globe during its latest edition and showcasing the vibrant spirit of the neighbourhood, which has transformed from a troubled past to a beacon of hope and resilience. It not only serves as a tribute to the people of Medellin, but also as a platform for international artists to collaborate and showcase their talents in a truly captivating setting, putting the neighbourhood on the map, with its electrifying atmosphere and the sense of community it fosters. It has become a symbol of the power of art and music to break down barriers, bridging gaps between cultures.
